CONSPIRACY!!!!! (Less than great news) [27 Mar 2008|04:58am] [ mood | depressed ] [ music | Dropkick Murphys - Danny McBride ] So a few days ago I found out I will not be done with Drilling in the Army Reserve August 2008 (as planned). I will be drilling (and maybe deploying) with my unit until.... AUGUST 2010. This is not good news to me. I was SO READY to be done with the Military. Not saying it isn't an institution I am proud to have served with, or full of people I am proud to have served with BUT... I feel like I have done my part, that this NCO has given enough time and service to his nation. Remember, I never wanted to make a 20+ year career out of the military, I wanted to serve my nation, fight the goddamn Islamic Terrorist movement that had killed my friends and attacked my country, and then get out and live a normal life again. That is what I signed up for, that is what I have on my contract, and that what I expected. There is no appeal. There is no reprieve. There are honorable avenues out of this, but I don't want to start even thinking about that yet. Personally, I think this was a conspiracy timed by Uncle Sam and Paramount to promote the movie Stop-Loss.
